C is for Cheers!
Whenever I read Hebrews 12:1 I imagine that cloud of witnesses. In my mind’s eye, the great saints of old are cheering for me, clapping their hands and shouting “Go Pam Go!” They are convinced that I can do and be all God has written in His book concerning me.
That’s the third and final point in the “ABC’s of delegation.” CHEERS! If you’re a leader who cheers for others you accomplish two things. First, you let people know that you believe in them. I’ve found that people will do more to meet the high expectation of someone they love and respect than to prove wrong the negative assumptions of a perceived enemy.
The second thing you’ll accomplish is your own humility. Giving credit to others demands both humility and security on your part. Are you secure enough to allow someone else to stand in the spotlight and hear the applause? Are you humble enough to start that applause?
Our Heavenly Father delegated the management of the world to us. He sent the Holy Spirit to daily cheer us on. Let’s dust off our pompoms and follow His example.
Success and Progress!
