Be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude] Ephesians 4:23 AMP
A friend told me about a taxi driver whose passenger tapped him on the shoulder. The driver was so startled he nearly hit a bus, drove over the curb and stopped just inches from a plate-glass window. The driver then apologized to his passenger and explained that this was his very first day on the job. He’d been driving a hearse for 25 years!
It’s important not to take old thoughts, expectations and reactions into a new season. Doing so could be deadly. Israel was freed from slavery, but never entered the promises of God because they never stopped thinking like slaves. They died in the wilderness. The Pharisees and Sadducees failed to recognize who Jesus was because He didn’t fit their thoughts of who the Messiah should be. They missed out on eternal life.
Don’t try to navigate your current season using the paradigms of an old one. Seek out a “fresh mental and spiritual attitude.” Expect God to do something new and wonderful in your life. There is nothing more powerful than a change in perspective.
Success and Progress!
