Diligence Part 2, Mentoring Moments, the 1 min blog
The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance, but everyone who is hasty comes only to poverty. Proverbs 21:5 ESV
We are continuing our conversation on diligence and I am living this one a little more than I’d like to. For example, yesterday I left the office to run an errand. I stopped for gas but there had been an accident right at the entrance, so I drove on. I got to the next station only to discover that I had left my wallet at home. I should mention that the car was E and I was quite a bit from home. I started to ask myself, “Do I really want to run this errand?”
It reminded me of those Apostles in Luke 8:22. Jesus said “Let’s go the other side.” Sounds simple enough, but before long they were fighting waves, bailing water and probably wondering what’s so great about the other side anyway!
Any time we commit to follow a directive from God, circumstances can tempt us to doubt our desire. I like to tell myself , “Don’t let the waves drown the word!” The Bible says, The plans of the diligent lead surely to abundance.
Success and Progress!
