Doing Life Together Mentoring Moments, the 1 min blog
“Doing life together.” It’s a phrase we’ve heard a lot. But it’s only of late that I’ve grown to love and understand it. When I first heard those words “Doing life together,” I had no desire to participate. In fact, I wanted the opposite. You do your life and I’ll do mine!
But did you know that “Doing Life Together” isn’t a new idea? It’s as old as the early church. Acts 2:42 gives the formula for living life in community.
They were continually and faithfully devoting themselves to the instruction of the apostles, and to fellowship, to [a]eating meals together and to prayers. Acts 2:42 Amplified Bible (AMP)
So there’s the formula for doing life together,
- Sharing the word
- Just hanging out
- Eating meals
- Praying together
Being a part of an active community of believers is more than just going to the same church. It’s developing deep connections with people who matter to you. It requires time, faithfulness and devotion.
Are you doing life alone? I’m not asking if you have friends. Are there people in your life who are sharing the word, spending time, eating meals and praying together with you?
I’d love to learn about your experiences.
Success and Progress!
