Don’t Be Anxious Mentoring Moments, the 1 min blog
Bobby McFerrin’s song “Don’t worry, Be Happy” has a line that says:
In every life we have some trouble but when you worry, you make it double
We were never promised that we wouldn’t have troubles but have you let your troubles have you? Worry comes when our minds perpetually think about our problems and what could happen. Matthew 6:34 says “therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
According to Oxford Dictionary, anxious and eager both mean looking forward to something however eager has a positive connotation while anxious is negative. Anxiety is designed to steal your joy and enthusiasm for what God is doing in your life.
Thank God that He has given us a plan of victory over anxiety.
Philippians 4:6-7(NIV) Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
As leaders and children of God, we don’t have to be bound by worry and anxiety. Give thanks and don’t be anxious.
