Don’t Call Me a Racist, Mentoring Moments
Now it shall come to pass in the latter days That the mountain of the LORD’S house Shall be established on the top of the mountains, And shall be exalted above the hills; And all nations shall flow into it. Isaiah 2:2
We can’t talk about difficult conversations without talking about race. The Bible promises that as the Kingdom is exalted, many nations or ethnicities will come to the Lord’s house. Are we ready for that? It’s the ultimate difficult conversation.
While Diversity continues to be a value in the marketplace, the church seems to be missing out. Statements like “we don’t see color,” may sound good but it’s translated “Don’t call me a racist.” Also, those words carry a hidden insult which implies who you are and where you come from doesn’t matter.
Stop ignoring our differences! God wants us to recognize our diversity, celebrate it and leverage it to bring fresh perspectives and greater innovation to the house of God.
