Don’t Drive Through the Orange Cones! Mentoring Moments, the 1 min blog
We often say there are just two seasons in Chicago, winter and construction. If you’re going any distance this season, you’re very likely to encounter those dreaded orange cones. We hate them and why not, they slow us down, force us to change lanes and take us on unplanned detours.
But have you ever felt like your life was under construction? Are you revved up and ready to drive forward but find yourself slowing down, changing lanes and taking detours? Be patient. The Bible says “every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain,” Isaiah 40:4 (KJV). That sounds like construction to me.
If God has your life under construction, keep in mind that it’s temporary and it’s making way for your success and His glory. And the glory (majesty and splendor) of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it. Isaiah 40:4-5 (AMP)
