Don’t Forget to Celebrate, Mentoring Moments, the 1 min blog
“I realize that there’s nothing better for them to do than to be cheerful and enjoy what is good in their lives. It is a gift from God to be able to eat and drink and experience the good that comes from every kind of hard work.” Ecclesiastes 3:12-13 (GW)
One of my favorite elements of the Kingdom is celebrations.
Celebrating helps you recognize what went right. Yes, we want to correct mistakes, but it’s the things we do well that the world needs more of. What’s going right in your organization? Find out why, spread it around and do more of that!
Celebrating reminds you of what’s important. When my children were younger there was a spelling test every week. Every time someone got a 100, we literally sang a song about it and sometimes we had cake. The point is we wanted the girls to know that what they were doing was important.
Finally, celebrating glorifies God. The Bible says, unless the Lord builds the house we labor in vain. Giving honor to God keeps us from excessive pride and positions us for the next victory. Don’t forget to celebrate!
Success and Progress!
