Eat That Frog! Mentoring Moments, the 1 min blog
“But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
There is an old saying, “if the first thing you do each morning is to eat a live frog, you can go through the day with the satisfaction of knowing that that is probably the worst thing that is going to happen to you all day long!”
The Apostle Paul knew a thing or two about eating frogs. He had a huge assignment and along the way faced opposition, obstacles and obstructions. He also received something that surpassed his immediate circumstances: a glimpse of the glory before him. Paul petitioned to have the thorn in the flesh that thing sent to humble him, removed. The Lord’s answer to him was “My grace is enough for you to get it done” (my paraphrase). What was Paul’s response? He marched forth because of the joy set before him.
God has called you to accomplish something bigger than you and you’ve said “Lord you’ve have got to be kidding me!” Trust God’s grace – His enabling power -to do what you can never accomplish on your own. There is joy ahead when you take that step and get started. Put some hot sauce on that frog and eat it! What is the worst thing that can happen?
