Feed the Leader, Mentoring Moments, the 1 min blog
“The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who listens to counsel is wise.”
Proverbs 12:15 (AMP)
Hang out with me long enough and I’m going to ask you this question, “So what are you reading right now?” In a small group I’ve even been known to take a poll, listen carefully and take notes.
The Bible is clear about the benefits of wise counsel. It brings success and safety (Proverbs 11:14, 15:22). Reading good books gives us the opportunity to gain insight from those who are living where we are going, or who’ve done what we’re doing. No matter where you are on your leadership journey, it’s vital that we never stop learning.
This month is about recharging. Research shows that reading makes you smarter, more empathetic and relatable. Let’s take an inventory or our leadership diet; after all, you are what you eat, both spiritually and naturally. What’s on the menu? Make the investment to feed the leader within.
Success and Progress!
