From Cute to Fruit
I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains [just one grain; it never becomes more but lives] by itself alone. But if it dies, it produces many others and yields a rich harvest. John 12:24 (AMP)
If you’re a backyard gardener, IT’S HARVEST TIME for you! We can tell because the blooms on our tomato and cucumber blossoms are dying and dropping off. Sounds strange, but their death is a rewarding and exciting time.
It’s easy to get excited about the beautiful blossoms. They’re very cute and smell good. Although some flowers are edible, but it is the fruit that really feeds us. It’s the fruit that provides the nourishment! And the fruit only comes after the flower has died.
It’s the same with us. We’ve heard the term “dying to self?” That happens when our plans, ideas and ambitions die and we receive God’s plan for our lives. It’s time to abandon being “cute” by the standards of others and joyfully embrace the beauty that comes from a fruitful life in Jesus! It’s time to die, multiply and give God the rich harvest He desires and deserves. Rest in Peace!
Success and Progress!
