It Runs in the Family
John 13:34 (AMP) I give you a new commandment: that you should love one another. Just as I have loved you, so you too should love one another.
I have a daughter who looks a lot like me. In fact, she was once stopped at school and told, “You look like this lady who works at my church.” Families undeniably share traits.
We in the family of God also share traits. One of the last things Jesus gave His disciples was a new commandment-Love One Another. Even further, He told them that this love for each other would be their identifying mark. He said, “This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.” John 13:35 (MSG)
This unconditional love is the family trait of all Christ-followers. Some families have big noses. Some are all tall. Some have red hair. God’s family has love. I charge you today to love so boldly and unconditionally that others can see and recognize you as a part of God’s family. When you do, get ready. It won’t be long until someone stops you and says “Hey, you look like…?”
Success and Progress,
