Leaders Learn On Purpose Mentoring Moments, the 1 min blog
When I think about the elements of a great leader, one of the first things that come to mind is that they’re always learning. Whether they’re on the fast track to learning new software or if they’re learning from a mistake, leaders have a natural affinity to learn and to grow. According to Entrepreneur Magazine the average CEO reads anywhere from four to five books a month.
As leaders when you make an investment in yourself, you ultimately make an investment in your team. A wiser, stronger and a more experienced you almost always leads to a better a team. If you are to lead effectively, you must be willing to learn. The bible says in Proverbs 9:9, “Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.”
There are many things required of a leader and purposefully learning is one of them. It produces excellence and excellence creates great leaders. Never rely on talent alone, become a master of your craft, take time to develop your skill because leaders learn on purpose.
