Love Openly, Mentoring Moments, the 1 min blog
Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Romans 12:9 (MSG)
The KLD team is on the Love B.O.A.T. B was for loving Boldly. This week O is for loving openly.
If you’ve ever been hurt by someone you loved, welcome to the club. It would great if getting hurt while loving people was like sticking a fork in an electrical outlet. We could just decide to never do that again and avoid the pain. But that isn’t anything like the life God has for us.
Romans 12:9 teaches that our love should be genuine; it should come from the center of who we are. But how do you do that and protect yourself? You don’t. I am not advising you to ignore the wisdom and warnings from God. But I am being honest with you, loving like God is risky, it requires vulnerability and you will probably get hurt. But it’s the only way to walk in real power and reflect God in your relationships. So go for it and be open.
Success and Progress,
