God loves to take people from the bottom to the top. Often He does it virtually over night.  Think about Esther, Gideon and Joseph.  God brought them from obscurity and made each a household name.  They were heroes celebrated through the streets of Israel.

the will of God, even when it seemed dangerous or life-threatening to do so.  Esther risked her life and saved a nation. Joseph spent 14 years in prison because he refused to sin against God. Gideon faced an innumerable enemy with an army of only 300 men.

Each was extremely obedient and each was extremely exalted, but none so much as our Lord Jesus.
