And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalms 1:3 (KJV)

“I can fix it!” Good words to hear from your plumber on New Year’s Eve. The PamFam had some major plumbing issues and we had no time for that. The plumber said “It’s probably tree roots. It’s been a dry season.” I’ll admit I was half-listening. There was work to be done, volunteers to lead and a major service to prep for.

Little did I know the Lord had revelation for me in tree roots and the plumbing issue? (He’s clever that way.) In a dry season, a smart tree will not allow itself to die. Instead it will send its roots deep and wide to find water. The results are remarkable. Imagine that tree thriving, blooming and producing much fruit, all because of the work done underground.

If your current atmosphere is dryer than you’d like and not conducive to your growth, get your roots deep in the Word of God and wide in the presence of God. You’ll flourish in any atmosphere. Rain or Shine!
