There I will give her her vineyards and make the Valley of Achor [troubling] to be for her a door of hope and expectation. And she shall sing there and respond as in the days of her youth and as at the time when she came up out of the land of Egypt. Hosea 2:15

I’ll never forget the first time I was in a haunted house. “God, if You get me out of here, I’ll never go in another one!” I was around 8 years old and repented of sins I hadn’t even committed yet. All I wanted was to find the door!

Hosea 2:15 reminds me of that feeling of just wanting out. Hosea declares how God will frustrate Israel’s sin until she repents and returns to her “first husband.” After many judgments, the Lord brings Israel to a wilderness. It’s in that wilderness that God promises to make the Valley of Achor [troubling] a door of hope and expectation.

God doesn’t promise to always remove us from difficult places. Instead He will make those
difficulties a door of hope for us. The next time you’re surrounded by trouble look for The Door. You’ll find it here John 10:9.

I am the Door; anyone who enters in through Me will be saved (will live). He will come in and he will go out [freely], and will find pasture.

Success & Progress!
