Mercy Mercy Me Mentoring Moments, the 1min
Then his master was filled with pity for him, and he released him and forgave his debt. Matt 18:27
As leaders we hold ourselves to a higher standard, and we should. After all, our actions affect more than just us. This higher standard can make it difficult to accept God’s mercy. Many times we think that we have to pay for our mistakes but Jesus has already paid our debt. Lamentations 3:22-23 says “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness”.
Sin is an indication that something is broken. Don’t think for a moment that we can fix ourselves. Instead, repent and allow the Lord to fix what is broken in us. If we are not careful to receive mercy when we sin, we won’t be able to give it to others when they need it. The Lord is not looking to inflict pain but show us areas in which we still need to grow. What an awesome example to follow! Let’s receive and give mercy everyday.
Success and Progress,
