New Year’s Revolution, Mentoring Moments, the 1 min blog
“And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Matthew 3:2
Do you want a revolution? O.K. Kurt Franklin said it first, but I’ll admit I didn’t even know what he was really asking.
Revolution [rev-uh-loo-shuh n];
1. An overthrow or repudiation and the thorough replacement of an established government or political system by the people governed.
2. The usually violent attempt by many people to end the rule of one government and start a new one.
I like to make New Year’s resolutions. Usually it’s about doing more of this and less of that. This year it’s “drink more water and take myself less seriously.” But the KLD team challenged me to make a New Year’s revolution! I’m discovering there’s a big difference.
A revolution requires sacrifice, often a loss of life and a turning away from old ways of thinking and doing. Resolutions come and go. If you want permanent change it’s time for a revolution.
Success and Progress!
