Practice Your ABC’s
…You shall say this to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you! Exodus 3:14b (amp)
If you’ve attended my workshops on team building, you’ve heard me say, “Smart leaders think who not how.” To complete your mission, you’ve got to think beyond if something can be done and even beyond how you can personally make it happen. Tap into the people-power available to you. It’s about delegation. Skillful delegation is as basic to leaders as ABC, and the A is for Authority.
In Exodus 3 God is sending Moses on a mission to deliver Israel from slavery. Moses knows he cannot do this on his own. Not only would the Egyptian Pharaoh laugh him to scorn at best, or at worst execute him, Moses’ own people wouldn’t take one step towards freedom based on his word alone. He not only needed God’s power, he needed God’s authority to serve God’s mission.
Likewise, your authority makes it easier for others to serve your mission. It adds weight to their words and takes the pressure off. Are you ready to work beyond your own abilities, knowledge and time restraints? Then you’re ready to receive and release authority.
Success and Progress!
