Stir It Up, Mentoring Moments, the 1 min blog
“Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you.”
2 Timothy 1:6
I ask you today, what gift from God have you allowed to sit at the bottom of your glass like sugar? While I pondered this question, emptiness formed from not listening to what God was saying. The Lord shared that the very gift I was seeking, was already manifested in me, serving others.Serving is my hearts passion and yet sometimes I thought, “You are better than that.” For so long I felt serving others wasn’t enough, but God reminded me that serving others is valued; it takes strength and humility. Ester was a great example of this.
Ester courageously risked her own life on behalf of her people. God used her to be an influence while serving others. I moved from questioning my gift to saying, Lord your will be done.
“Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord not people…” (Eph 6:7).
If you are questioning your calling or just feel like what you’re doing has no purpose, I speak life into the sugar at the bottom of your glass. Stir up your gift and walk in what God has divinely designed you to be.
