Stop the Drain, Mentoring Moments, the 1min blog
All month we’ve been recharging leaders and if we’re going to stay charged up, we need to stop the drain.
Just like there are certain applications that drain your battery, there are certain mental and emotional applications that drain your power.
Complaining! “Do all things without grumbling or questioning (Phil 2:14 ESV).” Grumbling and complaining cause us to look and think just like the world around us. As Believers, we’re called to change the world not join them.
Worry! “Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad (Proverbs 12:25 ESV).” Worry is an abuse of the imagination. Leaders, no one wants to follow us to a negative place. If you have concerns pray, don’t worry.
Doubt! “…for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind (James 1:6 ESV).” Believing God stabilizes you. Doubting allows even the wind to blow you off course, wasting your time and draining your energy.
This week, let’s eliminate those things that drain your energy and power up for success and progress!
