Take the Strife Test, Mentoring Moments, the 1 min blog

In category, faith, Leadership, spirit led

All month long we are talking about strife vs. conflict and how to deal with both. Often the search for wisdom involves looking at various points of view. How do you we accomplish this and stay out of strife? James 3:17 gives us the litmus test.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. James 3:17 (KJV)

Is it Pure? Be sure your motive is to share wisdom, not to make anyone look or feel bad.

Is it Peaceable? Can you present your perspective without getting angry or offended?

Is it Gentle and easily entreated? Keep an open mind. God could give wisdom to others in the room.

Is it full of Mercy and good fruits? Show respect when presenting your point of view.

Is it without partiality or hypocrisy? Say what you really think is best. Make sure it favors the mission rather than a single person.

Hope this helps us stay out of strife and every wicked thing that comes with it.

Success and Progress!
