Teaching is Fundamental, Mentoring Moments, the 1 min blog
Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ. 1 Cor 11:1
What an invitation from the Great Apostle Paul. It’s one that most leaders hesitate to make. We are much more comfortable pointing people to Jesus. After all, He’s perfect and He’s God and that kind of puts Him in the “untouchable” category.
But try as we may to avoid it, the thing that makes you a leader is that someone is following you. In order follow, they have to watch, and when they watch they are going to learn. That is this week’s topic, “teaching is fundamental.”
As leaders, you can’t avoid teaching but you can to decide what you’re going to teach. No one expects you to be perfect. Honestly, perfect people are boring. We want to see how you win with your imperfections in this imperfect world.
Leading doesn’t mean that you have it all together. It means that God has put you on display and is allowing others to learn as you’re getting it all together. Get used to it, because in leadership, teaching is fundamental.
Success and Progress!
