The world loves a good scandal complete with all the juicy details and the dark back story. However, nobody wants to be in a scandal. Who would want to be subjected to public scorn and outcast? In the Bible we see many people whose obedience to God caused a scandal.
Jesus’ disciples plucked grain and ate it on the Sabbath. Remember the prophet who was instructed to run naked through town? Now that was a scandal. Who can forget the women with the issue of blood! She did some scandalous things to get the healing she needed. Her sickness relegated her to her home. She not only went out in public but she touched an unmarried man!
I’m not releasing you to go out and break social norms just because you can. But be aware that following God and walking by faith will take you outside of your comfort zone and possibly outside of public approval.
Believe God and make a move. We may not know this woman’s name, but she went from being a public scandal to an icon of boldness and faith.
