Worth Waiting For

“ Let us not grow weary or become discouraged in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give in.” Galatians 6:9

On a road trip with my mother, along a stretch of highway, I came upon a corn field in full bloom.  Considering the time of the year, I commented that it was odd the farmer had not brought in this plentiful harvest.  My mother, a born and raised farm girl, offered this agricultural insight.  The corn was bountiful, yet if I looked closely, I would see that it was not ripe enough for harvesting.

I am reminded of this story, as we step into a Spiritual New Year.  Many have the seeds of prophetic promises within them.  While waiting to receive the harvest God has declared, nothing has changed. So, what now?

Wait! Again, I say wait!  Mom conclude her lesson by informing me that “any farmer worth his field, knows the exact time to begin the harvesting”.  I just needed patience.  If this is true of the natural farmer, how much more of the Heavenly One.  What has been sown into you, will produce a harvest. Wait on the Lord.
